You can find a great list here at OH
http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/m-ins-lettermn.phtml its a
letter of medical necessity that lists many of the common comorbids. Good
luck!

You probably need to ask your insurance, although most are notorious for
not giving a straight answer. However, some may recognize some
co-morbidities and not others. Mine (BCBS AL) only recognizes hypertension
if it's uncontrolled, and it does not recognize joint pain or arthritis at
all. Also, I have to have a bmi of 40 or greater, or a bmi of 35 or greater
with the recognized co-mobidities, for 2+ years. My bmi is 38 and my blood
pressure fluctuates, but I don't know if it can be considered uncontrolled.
I don't even want to think about having uncontrolled hypertension for 2
years, or gaining 11 pounds and maintaining it for 2 years...that's
downright dangerous. So I'm looking at a home equity loan...

Sharon Brittain has a large list of co-morbs on her 1st or 2nd website. It
is a really good list, and I used it. Hope this helps!!
