Question:
After having an uppper GI.....

I was told it showed that I had gastric reflux. The thing is, I don't feel like I do, because I had it prior to my RNY and I know what it feels like. Does anyone else have it without symptoms and what should I do - if anything? thanks    — michelle T. (posted on November 21, 2003)

Typically the GERD is fixed with RNY, a small % have some. Some have to be on meds. I think this is something you should be talking to your doctor for info and tx plan. Good Luck

I had a upper gi oh about 2 monthts ago. I was 16 months post op then. I had been having terrible pough pain. I was told i have a bit of reflux left. Not enough to feel like it used to pre op but enough to cause irritation at the bottom of my esophogus. I take pepcid ac 2x a day and mylanta in between as needed. So it is possible to have it still post op most of the time it is just no the severity it used to be. kristiky
