Question:
Why does water intake increase weightloss?
I struggle getting in 32 oz. a day. Man I try, but how does this affect speeding up weightloss? Don't understand that piece. — Michele B. (posted on November 4, 2003)

I heard it helps flushes the fat out of you. also you know water is good
for your kidneys.

The extra assistance in losing weight is only a side reason to get your 64
ounces in. Plenty of water flushes your kidneys, and will help prevent
kidney stones (the high amount of protein and calcium that we consume can
encourage stones). It also helps move toxins out of your system. While on
a diet weighted toward protein, your body will go into a state known as
ketosis. Ketosis is good in that it is a sign that you are breaking down
fat. A side effect of this breakdown is the production of acidic toxins,
including acetone. Drinking plenty of water helps move these toxins out of
your body. Don't drink for the weight loss, drink because it's critical to
your health. It is very, very important to up your water intake
significantly.
