I am post op and i urinate ALL day long. I drink my 64oz daily but i do not sleep. I go to the bathroom about 5 times in just ONE hour, and i wanted to know after i lose all the excess weight (only 48 left) i have lost 103 in 5 mths, will i finally sleep? and not pee all day long? Or will this eternal hell lol continue?    — e T. (posted on October 15, 2003)

Hi, 5 times in one hour seems excessive to me; I wonder if maybe you have an over-active bladder? I know when I first started drinking water only, that I had to go very frequently, at least once an hour. But that has tapered off greatly. I would talk to your doc about it; like I said, that seems kind of excessive to me. Just my humble opinion!

If I were you I'd talk with my doctor about this. I drink about 80 ounces of water or Crystal Light a day and I on ly go about 5 times a DAY, not an hour. It sounds to me like you might have a bladder problem.

I know how you feel... I go at least once an hour myself at 6 mos. out...BUT I do notice the days that it is like this, that I lose weight the next morning. I too drink lots of water... you could have some sort of infection though... any symptoms other then the trips to the bathroom? gail -90 w/ 20 to go

original poster. I do not have any other symptons besides the constant urinating, b/f surgery i went constantly as well but not b/c i drank alot of water, now its a hassle. I do lose weight the mornings after all this water is released. B/f i would have to constantly go at night, but now its in the mornings and evenings and a bit at night.but i am very tired or urinating lol.

I had that symptom in relation to needing bladder suspension surgery. My doc gave me a medication called Urispas that told my brain to ignore signals from the bottom of my bladder when there is just a little, but only send the urge to go when the bladder was nearly full. It worked great, and after a few weeks I didn't have to take it anymore, my nerve endings were retrained. Great med!
