Question:
I called tuesday to see if all my results are in...
the secretary said she is going to gather all of the results and put in for insurance approval once she has them. IS IT too soon to call back on Monday Morning to see f she got all the results ready?? I'm so anxious, i hate this wating game. — ItsThenewKelley (posted on October 9, 2003)

I would say go ahead and call. As they say - the squeaky wheel gets the
grease. I've worked in doctors offices for 20 years and I know from my
experience that if I know someone's likely to call to check up on
something, I want to be able to tell them "it's done". It's a
fine line though. I'm afraid I'm bugging the heck out of my surgeon's
assistanct who's supposed to be filing everything for me, but with
something like this, you just want to make sure it's all done right the
first time or it's even more delays and you're right - the waiting is
HORRIBLE! When you call just be very polite and appreciative of their
efforts and thank them for all their help. Another old saying I try to
live by "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar!" Good
luck.

I had a problem with my sleep clinic getting my test results in. For three
weeks I called every other day only to be told they were sure it would be
taken care of soon and please, don't call. BULL HONKIES. You call. You
be nice and sweet to whoever answers the phone. Say "Thanks so much
for all your help, I know I'm being a pain. I'll call tomorrow to see how
things are going." Don't make it like your trying to tell the person
how to do their job, but make it clear you aren't going to go away until
you get what you want. My surgeons office still hangs up on me when I call
and I'm
