The dietition that I saw recommends 65 grams of protein per day.

I am two months post op, so i need more protein than someone that is 12
months out. But my dietrician told me we should have between 70 and 100
gms of protein daily. I think if you were to have only 60 gms a day it may
catch up with you and start to show some signs, like tiredness.

There is a formula somewhere, based on body weight. Perhaps someone else
knows what it is. Even if I knew what the formula was, I don't know that I
would trust it--I'm suppoosing that it was designed with people with full
digestive systems in mind. Numbers that I see commonly given are 60 to 100
grams per day--quite a range. You're better off to seek advice from your
doc or dietitian about what you need.

Like everyone says...each doctor/dietician will vary in opinions. I have
been getting about 100+ grams of protein in for about 4 months now. It
seems to work well for me. I get 81 from supplements and the rest from
food. I've heard that you should not exceed 30 grams per sitting/serving,
so I split my protein supplement up to 3x a day (27g per serving).

Vespa is right that the X.X g protein for X.Xkg body wt are nice for
normal, stable people who just want to live normal lives. Doesn't apply to
anyone who is body building, or ill, or trying to gain or lose wt, or who
is losing a large amount of wt. And even then, there are 3 formulas! One
determinint is the typeof surgery. RNY? How much was bypassed OR how much
common channel do you have? How much wt do you want to lose? How much
appetite control do you want? How do you want to feel? Are you a minimalist
or a maximist, so to speak? Do you want to do the minimum or "be all
you can be"? You don't need to answer these questions publicly, of
course, just in your head. I base my own protein on what my surgeon
suggests for my surgery (as a minimum, 150g) PLUS what it takes to make my
skin fit right (I dunno, that's the only way I can describe it), and makes
me feel better, which is slightly more than he recommends.
