Question:
Are there any long-term post-ops (2+ years) that HAVEN'T regained?

I am only not quite a month out, but am already thinking about the future. Are there any long term post-ops out there that have NOT had any weight regain? If so, is it difficult to keep your weight off if you do what you are supposed to do? (Protein first, water and exercise)    — Denise B. (posted on September 12, 2003)

Denise, I am at 22 months out and have stayed within a 4 pound range for a year now. I lost a total of 153 lbs. Down to 148 lbs and I now stay at about 150 lbs. I started at 301 lbs. It hasn`t been too hard to keep it off. If I get up to 152 lbs, I cut back a little and lose it in a couple of days. Hope this info helps. Ella-Beth

I was 3 years in April and haven't gained. I lost 125. I weigh myself daily and only allow 3 pound gain. Then I go on the Atkin's induction for about a week. It brings me back down right away. Also,I exercice at least 3x a wk if not 6x keeps me in check. Even if its just walking 15 min up the road and back. It only is a 1/2 hr out of my day.

I am 3 yrs post op. I gained 5 lbs over the X-mas hollidays , promptly took it off. Went on to gain 6 lbs by not walking and paying attention to a quality food intake. Went back to walking and concentrating on my protein and water and took it off in no time. The trick is to continue to be aware of our food intake , maintain our water intake and get our exercise in. This is a tool use it wisely. If you gain get it off right away. I have a fortune invested in clothes and furs , I will nwever go back to my old fat self. There is no food out there worth that!!!!!!!

hiya~ i am 27 months post op and haven't gained. at 18 months post op i weighed 120lbs (a loss of 148lbs) and started lifting weights. over a few months time i had gained about 4 pounds but went down a clothing size. i now fluctuate that same four pounds depending on time of day, what i've eaten, where the moon is and what's on tv. (lol) i work out about 3 times a week (aerobic and weights) and yes i watch what i eat but i don't stress out about it. i eat healthy and get in all my protein. good luck kate
