Question:
Barb THompsons Book

I had my manditory psycologist appointment today and he wants me to read the book. "Weight Loss Surgery" by Barbara Thompson. Anyone know how I can get a copy of it cheap?    — Janice C. (posted on September 8, 2003)

Janice..The best place I have found to get books at a reasonable price is Amazon.com...most times they have the regular price and then prices where you can buy it "used"..I have done this several times and been very satisfied with the results...also, have you checked out your community library?..if they don't have the book you want, they will network with other libraries and find it for you...can't get much cheaper than "free"..*S*..hope this helps...Lin

It is not a cheap book but definitely worth the read. I gave it to everyone in my family who thought I was razy to do this and it helped so much. I suppose the library might have it but I referred to it a lot in the few months after surgery to calm my nerves. I too got it at www.amazon.com.

I just checked our public library's web site and they have it so you might check your local library. I think I'll go check it out after work today. Thanks for your question.

It is a very informative book. You can find it at Amazon.com or wlscenter.com (this is her website). I have read it twice to absorb the info, she knows what she is talking about and tells you all the angles of everything you need to know about wls. Very much worth every penny. It covers everything from insurance issues, mental preparation, what you need in the hospital, to how to deal with things post-op. It helped me out a lot. I referred to it often and still do. I am 5 months out and down 105 pounds. Good luck!

You can get the book right here on site. Just click the "store" link at the top of the page. The store sells many items including the book you are looking for. Good luck!
