Dear Gale,
I had an ulceration below the pouch caused by Vioxx. I would encourage you
to call you surgeon and let him/her recommend a gastroenteroligst to do an
endoscopy. I have had 3 strictures due to the ulcer. I waited way to long
to call my doctor when I had the pain. So let them know. Take care and
you are in my prayers.

I was suffering from excruciating pain for three months and finally got a
scope...turns out I had an h pylori bacteria infection, coupled with
ulcers. ONE does of prevacid, and the pain was gone. I did that therapy
for ten days, and am now on nexium...no more pain. Life is soooo good! I
don't think ulcers are too big a whoop, as long as you don't let 'em go on
too log. All the best to you : )

Be careful with those ulcers, my friend last year had open RNY last july,
in October she found that she had an ulcer and it fused both stomaches
together, thus making the surgery innefective. She is a rare case but
nonetheless it was quite scary. luckily she lost most of the weight
because of thr pain and that it was working in the beginning. However, she
is so scared that she will now gain it all back.

I was in the hospital from 7/28-8/3. I had emergency surgery. I had an
ulcer in my pouch that caused a small hole. The gastric juices drained out
onto my organs....the pain as the worst I have ever felt and I have had
open RNY, 2 babies c-section and a few more surgeries. I was opened by
recutting the RNY incision, taking out all of my organs and thoroughly
cleaning them and my stomach cavity. Im going into graphic detail because
it is very serious and very painful.....its nothing to mess with. The
surgeon told my hubby after my surgery that another 1/2 hour and I probably
would have died. If you have a problem, DO NOT WAIT....get it checked
out!! best of luck to you, Terri 388/262
