Question:
I am 17 months post op RNY and am at goal weight. I've been taking a vitamin called
"Stress Tabs" plus Zinc but I just found out that it is time release. I've been feeling tired lately, is this why? Is there a good vitamin that you long term post ops can recommend to me? I go Friday to get six month blood work done and I'm afraid some of my levels will show malabsorption/depletion. Thanks! — michelle T. (posted on July 7, 2003)

I take stress tabs but with iron as my dietician said that my blood count
would be low unless I took the stress tab with iron. I am feeling more
energy than I have in some time as I started taking 5 a day. It really has
helped the energy level. Good luck and best to you. 6 months and 78lbs
down.

I, too, am exactly 17 months post op today! Congrats on being goal
weight...time release does not work for us. I still take my Flintstones
chewables, 2 a day. My labs are fine, but I know there are other good
vitamins out there too. check out Vitalady.com for the list of vitamins
she carries. Or go to the graduates yahoo site and ask there-everyone
there is 1 year or more post-op.

My nutritionist told me that Zinc can be harmfull to many of our vital
organs if we take it at normal doses. She said not to exceed 15mg a day and
if you cant find 15mg. then to take 25mg every other day.
