When I was 3-6 months post-op, it seemed almost anything would cause me to
bruise. I had little spots all over my arms and legs that were about as
big as a nickle. I guess they came from my dog jumping up on me. I had
all my labs done (thinking I must be anemic). They all came back fine, but
my PCP recommended a B12 shot. Since I was very tired all the time, I said
sure. I don't know if the B12 helped, or if it was a coincidence, but no
more bruises. Good luck.

I was just talking about this with a nutritionist yesterday and she said it
stems from not eating oranges. It has to be an orange cause of something in
the skin that you just don't get from drinking fresh squeezed OJ!

I counted 7 bruises one day on one leg alone. My surgeon checked my B1
(thiamine) level and it was low. I've been on B1 supplements ever since
and the bruises (and other symptoms such as buzzing/tingling sensations in
my extremities) have gone away. Have your doc check your B1 level...it's
not a test that they normally do...you have to ask for it. Hugs, Joy

I ALWAYS have bruises on me. My bloodwork always comes back normal but
still I have about 6 bruises on one arm and 3 or 4 on each leg. I think
some people are prone to them. If someone touches me, I typically will get
a bruise!!

I agree with Valarie. I too have been bruising like crazy. My bloodwork
showed low Iron and low Vitamin K. My surgeon says that Vit. K helps the
body clot. Low K low clotting factor....Hence all the bruising.

My mom has ahd a lifetime of severe bruising and about 10 years ago, her
doctor started her on B-12 shots. Ever since - the bruising is gone!
