Question:
Swollen Feet?

I am almost three months out. Last week I began to work out at curves. I went for three days. On Friday, I noticed that my feet/ankles were swelling. This went on through the weekend and has lasted through this week. I have been elevating them at night and putting ice on them. This isn't helping much. I've called my Dr's office and they don't seem to have any surgery related answers, except I am too young to have this going on. I'm 26. My Blood pressure is good and I have no other problems. Has anyone else had this? Any correlation to the exercising? Any suggestions? I'm not in any pain from it, but my ankles look horrible and they were just starting to slim down!! hI, I was only 1 week out and my ankles started swelling, after walking, and wouldnt go down so I also elevated them and that didnt help. I went to my PCP and I had gained 10# all in fluid retention. She prescribed a diuretic HYGROTEN, I took 1 a day for 1 week, and the swelling went down and so did the 10 pounds, now I take a 1/2 pill if needed. No more swelling. :0) I would call and get in to your regular doctor, and get it checked out it may be edema, (thats what mine was) and your body may need a little help getting rid of the extra fluid. Good luck.

Just out of curiousity, when you added the exercise to your regimin, did you also add extra fluids to your daily intake? If not, you should. I do agree though, that you should talk to your PCP about this.

For some reason when you start an exercise program your body begins to retain fluids. Make sure to drink plenty of water.
