Question:
I am seven months out, have lost 85lbs, but have been constipated the whole time up
until now. I have started having explosive diahrreah. Embarrasingly even to the point of having to change the sheets, clothes etc. What is going on? Is it just a new phase? HELP!!!! — Beverly H. (posted on June 4, 2003)

I can't honestly say that this is a new phase as mine has stayed fairly
consistent through-out my 10 months post-op. Others may have a different
experience. I would wonder though what has changed about you lately. Are
you eating different foods - added something? Sugar-free products with
sugar alcohols maybe? More fiber? More carbs? Are you exercising more?
Drinking lots more water than before? Is it really HOT where you live? All
these things have been known to increase bowel looseness. I really wish
people would update their profiles more so we could have a clue what might
be going on when answering these :>)

You might try keeping a food diary and see if it is food related. Also
lactose intolerance may be the problem. Do you still have your gall
bladder? If yes, it could be because of that. If it continues, definitely
see your doctor. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Why don't you give your doctor a call. Everyone hear could give an
opinion, however, you are really best off calling your doctor if there is
such a sudden change. It is alway's better to be safe than sorry.
