Question:
Does anyone who take estrogen have probelms?
Hi, Here I am again asking a question but, i was just wondering if anyone who is taking estrogen right now having problems with losing weight. I am on estradiol for about 3 years now and I am 4 mths. post-op RNY and have lost 70 lbs. so far but I don't want the estrogen am taking to slow me down eventually and was wondering if that can happen or has it to any of you? hiya! you sound like you're on target for weight loss. the risks of not
being on estrogen are pretty high -- i was recently diagnosed with
osteoporosis (had hysterectomy years ago) and i don't think the estrogen
i've been taking post op has been being absorbed fully (so i'm on a patch
now)...anyways estrogen is the number one preventor of bone density loss in
women so i highly recommend you stay on estrogen. the estradiol is a patch
right? if not, i'd switch to a patch.
i went from 268lbs pre op to 124lbs current (am 23 mos post op) so i don't
think estrogen played a role in my weight loss but i'm sure it played a
role in my bone density loss.

Hello, I also had WLS about 5 months ago and have lost 84lbs. Having such
a cold winter, I stopped taking my estradiol, praying for hot
flashes....lol. I have had no problems with the meds though. Good luck
