Question:
THE LAST COUPLE DAYS, AFTER I START EATING......
MY STOMACH STARTS HURTING REALLY BAD. IT SEEMS LIKE WHEN THE FOOD GETS HALFWAY DOWN MY STOMACH, MY STOMACH STARTS HURTING REALLY BAD. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS. I AM 8 MONTHS POST OP. — Gale G. (posted on May 19, 2003)

Gale,
If I were you, I'd call my surgeon if this continues. At about six months
out, I started having some discomfort and nausea when I ate and I had to
have an endoscopy done. I had an internal suture that had worked its way
into the pouch and was causing an obstruction - the doctor who did the
endoscopy clipped it and that would have been the end of it if I had called
the doctor sooner. But because I waited so long, I was dehydrated and
ended up having to be hospitalized. So act sooner rather than later.

I had this happen to me at three months post-op. Anytime I ate or drank, I
was in excruciating pain. Once I took a Nexium the pain went away. I have
to take it now every two to three days.

I've had this occur a few times and I am 15 months post-op. It doesn't
happen often, so I have never had it checked out, but the pain will take my
breath away. It lasts for a good 15 minutes. I chalked it up to eating
dense food too fast. Last time it occured, it was pork roast.
