Question:
I have no breast now
Is breast augmentation ever covered by insurance. — Cheryl C. (posted on May 12, 2003)

My insurance told me the only breast augmentation they cover is following
mastectomy surgery. Losing a lot of weight and having no bustline is
considered, by them anyway, to be a 100% cosmetic procedure and they don't
cover it. BTW, I have BC/BS PPO. Sorry the news isn't better.

It depends. The augmentation itself won't be covered, but some insurance
policies will cover a lift according to a formula they have for the
required amount of ptosis (that's droop!) I qualified - I was a 34Long, lol
- and I paid $800 for the implants that were put in by the surgeon during
the lift procedure. Now I'm 34D and happy happy happy! hugs, Ann rny
