Question:
At what size did you REALLY feel good at for the first time?
For example, if previously a size 24, when you wore a 16 (loosely, or should I say comfortably), did this just make a complete difference in how you felt physically? I never felt like I had lost any weight, and didn't see any difference, then all of a sudden, I was wearing a size 11 comfy, and now I feel like I am on top of the world. Now it's starting to fade though, and I am not feeling that same enthusiasm. Is this normal? — sheri H. (posted on May 12, 2003)

I was wearing between 20-24 and I am now buying size 8-9, I love it! I was
just as happy with every downsize, but of course now everyone else notices
and my own mother walked right past me the other day LOL she cant get use
to the big difference. My slef esteem was look at me-look at me and now
it's why do people stare so much lol go figure! It's a wonderful feeling.
Good luck!

I started to feel good after the first 50 pounds went and great after I
went down 3 sizes. However, it sounds like you may be putting too much
emphasis on how you feel versus what you look like and I (just my own lil
opinion here) don't think that's really healthy.

I started at size 22 and didn't really start feeling good until I hit a
size 14. Now I am a size 10-12 and feeling very good. Its a different
feeling, certainly not the high you feel when you get on the scale and see
the pounds whittle away almost every day or two. The weight loss has
pretty much stopped for me but i still get that high every time I put on an
outfit and like what I see inthe mirror!

Tammy, I've felt like that as well. I was feeling wonderful and on top of
the world like you said at a size 12 (was previously a 22). Then I lost
more weight and more, and now I'm a 5 and at my goal. I've been steady at
this weight for longer than the previous while losing, but the good feeling
hasn't left- still feel great. I suspect when you're at the weight you want
to be, you should feel good all the time. I still have issues with weight,
and its all in my mind. Although I do feel great, I still don't feel thin,
or how others tell me I look. I'm sure that will take some time. Goodluck
to you!

Tammy,
6 months ago I wore a tight 22-24 and now I am in a loose 14 but I was
having trouble feeling it. I have always been a rolly polly and I guess
with all the dieting before up and down, up and down....we may be waiting
for the other shoe to drop. My hubby got out an old pic of me and then
showed me my latest pic...I could reallyyyyyy see a difference there but in
the mirror, I guess it takes time for the mind to catch up to the loss.
Maybe its an issue we all will have to deal with. Now when I feel like I
haven't really changed much I get out those two pictures and I feel
wonderful again...God Bless

Well, I was busting out of 24/26's, and now I can shop at Target for size
20's. I'm feeling great about myself. It's almost 4 months and I'm down
60 lbs. I know there is more to come, but it was worth it for me to get
this far. I haven't weighed this in over 10 years and I feel like a new
me. I still can't believe it when I go to the clothing racks and don't
have to go to the end of them or worse, think there won't be anything that
will fit. Enjoy each size! It's a great celebration! --cb 1/27/03 -
