Question:
Suddenly at 8 weeks post op I am suffering from acne. It seems like every minute
there is another huge red bump on my face. I understand it is hormonal but what can be done to dry it up. Should I see a dermotologist? — Stacey F. (posted on May 12, 2003)

I had this same problem. I ordered Proactive off of TV, and that helped
for a while, but then I started getting overly dry skin from it so I
stopped. Since then, I started taking birth control pills and have had no
problems.

I had the same problem! In fact, I still have the same problem. My skin,
which had always been good, totaly took a nose-dive after my sugery. Break
outs and redness sent me to the dermotologist. The doctor said it was
adult onset acne, I don't know if it was coincidence(coming right after the
surgery as it did)or if I was destined to be fat and have breakouts but she
gave me some medicine that helps - doesn't make it go away completely but
it does help. Becasue it is not caused by the usual acne triggers, i.e.
clogged pours, etc. acne treatments won't work. Go to the doctor and what
he/she says. Good luck.

Im in the same boat. Im 7 months out and it does get better. My dr told
me that it was hormones and the body detoxing itself just ride it out...I
use clearasil...It works ok...better than the script he gave me.

It's probably toxins. I had this happen and I put a prescription anti-toxin
cream on my face that I had
been given tp clear up a spot on my leg where I hit fire coral and it
cleared right up. I can't remember the name sorry.
