Question:
I'm one week over a month and have not lost any weight since my 3rd week, help!
I have been following the plan, 2 protein shakes a day, getting in almost all my water eating a little soup for lunch and a small dinner and walking 1 mile every night. I have only lost 27 pounds. — Deborah M. (posted on May 7, 2003)

AMEN!!!! How can you complain about 27 pounds in 5 weeks? That's 5.4
pounds a week! You're doing great!

Just to recap here: You've lost weight at a rate in excess of five pounds a
week and this has you bothered? Have to question your use of the word
"only." I'm with the previous poster, i.e., lose the scales.

Debra, you will have weeks when you lose and those when you don't - that is
how it works. Go to the library and read about "plateaus" to see
that you are not alone. And please do not say "only" lost X
number of pounds. You will always find some that have lost more and others
that have lost less even when starting at the same height and weight as
you. We all lose at our own rates..the key word is ALL. As you get further
along, increase your calories, and how often you eat. Your body needs fuel
to burn those calories. Your not eating much right now, but that should
improve in time. Your doing fine- keep it up.

For someone that's a true "lightweight" (BMI of 37, only 80-90
lbs. over, according to your profile), you're doing great!!

think about it this way...if the average is losing 80% of your excess
weight in a year, it makes sense that your weight will come off slower than
someone who has 200 pounds to lose. hang in there & keep drinking that
water....it will continue to come off. i average 3.5 pounds/week. this is
the way i look at the relatively slow loss. i still see the change in my
clothes & in the reaction of people when they see me.

I lost 27 lbs in the 1st month than didn't lose a pound for 7 weeks I was
freaking out. I kept reading this wed site. and felt better so many people
do this. after 7 weeks I started losing again. drink planty of water and
exersise 30 min. a day. or walk 30 min. it will kick in again. you body has
to adjust.

Have a friend/spouse/child, hide that scale and don't let them give it back
to you until you are at least 3 months out. Then only keep it out one day
each month (weekly at MOST!)...you'll only frustrate yourself.
