What is bloodless surgery? Do you mean you do not want to be transfused?
I don't know of any surgery that involves cutting to be bloodless.

Do you mean you don't want to receive anyone's blood during surgery? I
never understood this, is it for religious reasons? You may be able to
donate your own blood a few days before and have that available for the
surgeon.

A friend of mine George had the RNY just a couple weeks ago. He is a
witness. Bloodloss isnt common, but can occur. Pick a VERY experienced
surgeon. Mine does folks from out of state. See my profile. Toomorrow nite
at 7:30 pm is our on line support group meeting. E mail me for the link to
on line meeting.

Hi there, Pamela! I, too, am a Christian and what I did was talk to my
surgeon ( who was a general surgeon) and make sure he would agree to my
beliefs, which he did. My surgery was over 5 1/2 hours long and I didn't
lose a lot of blood. Plus before surgery, about 2 months prior, I was
upping my iron dosage, to make sure that I would be fine with my blood
count. I know there is the Saginaw Cooperative Hospital in Saginaw,
Michigan, they have a bloodless unit there, will your insurance cover the
surgeons there? I will send something to you by e-mail. Vi. open RNY
