I had the same question at about 6 weeks out, when I got sick. I was told
by my doctor not to have a cortisone shot as cortisone impedes healing -
not something you need so soon post-op!I would ask your surgeon for their
advice. Best of luck!

I don't know, I had one at around one month post-op. I have allergies and
get a cortizone shot in my hip every few months. My surgeon didn't seem to
think anything of it and told me it was fine. So, I did it and I like to
think I'm doing just fine. I progressed at about the same rate as others as
far as healing goes.
And for pain, I was told only products that do not contain aspirin. But, if
there was a case where it could not be avoided, that zantac or pepcid,
something of that nature should be taken with it to protect the stomach
lining from forming an ulcer. Good luck!

My surgeon gave me the okay. I had been having back problems since surgery
and at about 3-4 weeks I asked if it was okay if I decided I need the shot
and he said it was fine.
