Hi there, Just like you I started everyday with 3 BC powders for years..
Bad knees. But I had to give up taking them 10 weeks before surgery because
my surgeon found i had stomach ulcers. He put me on Prevacid. After the
surgery I was on bloodthinners for 2 weeks, because my knees are so bad,,
But if you don't have a problem walking, then you shouldnt need then..
You'll be up and walking the same day of your surgery, every 4 hours. Plus
they may use the boot pumps to help with your circulation.. They did me.. I
hope i've helped

Stop taking them now incase you get offered an earlier surgery date and
just to be in the most prime condition!

ASK YOUR SURGEON or someone in his office. My surgeon let me take advil up
til midnight the night before my surgery - that way I could at least walk
into the hospital the next morning without limping too badly because of the
arthritis in my knees. Seriously, that is a question I would ask the
doctor.

I would ask the surgeon again. My surgeon had me stop taking aspirin and
plavix 2 weeks before surgery. As a RN I know this is usual, 2 weeks, but
like the previous poster said, if you stop now you would be ready in case
your surgery was moved up. By the way, he will not let me take the asprin
again but I did restart the plavix 3 weeks post-op. God luck to you and God
Bless. <><
