Question:
Has anyone with bcbs fl had to wait 1 year for pre existing clause without prior ins.
I have been told I have to wait 1 full year for surgery to be covered which will b in July 31/03 anyway I do not have a pre-existing condition under their guidlines and they say they know that but for this proceedure I have to wait 1 full year anyway I have not had prior insurance before this for years but have not seen a Dr. for anything for approx. 2 Yrs. before new insurance has anyone had this simular problem ? Unless your policy specifically says this I'd be looking for an attorney.
I don't see how they can pick and choose based on what you are asking them
to cover. To me, it seems that unless they disclose this to you in your
policy they would have to cover it. Otherwise they could say that for
ANYTHING you were asking them to cover. Keep in mind all those people on
here who have to fight and fight for their insurance to cover WLS - A
benefit they are entitled to!

Hi i had bcbs of fl and it took me 1 year and 2 appeals before they finally
approved me. When i started i was 495 pounds and a bmi of 62. I thought for
sure they would approve me the first time. All i can say is appeal and let
them know what you life style is like and how difficult it is for you thats
what i did, I even sent them pictures.Do what ever it takes to get
approved. Because they will try to find any excuse not to pay for it. Fight
