Question:
Should I pack my wound?
I had a thigh lift March 10th and a small part of my incision (near my knee) where one of the drains was located opened up and is still draining serum. It builds up in a small area near my knee forming a bulge and when I see that I press the bulge and the fluid comes shooting out like a fountain of water! I was wondering if I would heal faster if I packed the wound. I've been reading the library and so many people with drainage was told to pack it. I was wondering if maybe I should try that. Its a small area and not painful, I think I could manage it myself. Would I just do this with saline soaked gauze? I just want to do whatever would make it heal faster. Any advice? — Lisa N M. I would call you doc. Port incoisions are opacked with antibiotics on gauze
but you should probably be seen by your surgeon.
