Do you have a problem with sugar? If so, (hope so) then it is surely the
sugar that is giving you the gut problems. I know that the 2 times that I
have had sugar since my surgery (accidently), it made my stomach HURT like
crazy!

Erinn, that is so funny you mentioned that. I was on a sugary- gumball kick
for a few weeks. And the worst part is that it is empty calories. I mean if
I was going to have sugar, I might as well just eat candy so its something
I swallow! A fw aren't gonna kill you, and a few won't make you gain
weight. Now if you eat a ton everyday, that's a different story. Also, some
people might post about not even being allowed to chew gum at all. Every
surgeon is different, but the basis is that if we were to swallow gum by
accident, it can do some damage. So when you do chew, be conscious of it
and don't swallow by accident! Great weight loss- congrats to you!

Hi...I know you said you threw 'em out...but one warning here. My surgeon
told me at my initial post op visit NO MORE GUM!! If you swallow it, it
can become lodged in the stoma and the only way to get it out is an
endoscopy...not my favorite way to spend an afternoon...or a morning...or
any other time of day. Good Luck and Have a Sparkling Day!!

Hi erinn- I am pre-op but can relate to the cravings! My thing isn't
rainblow gumballs but those orange "circus peanut" things. Well,
I don't know if this will help you but they have that new product it's a
gumball that's also a kid's vitamin. Maybe you could get something good
out of "gum"? Good Luck :o)
