Question:
my insurance approval is under medical review as of fri.3/21/03 should i call back ?

I spoke w/ a rep. from bcbs on Fri.3/21/03 and asked if they received my fax from surgeons office for approval for wls yet and she put me on hold then came back after she had to check w/ her supervisor to see if they received the faxes anyway when she came back on the phone she told me she has it and is going to send it to the medical review and for me to call back in 10 buisiness days ,tommorrow will be just 1 week should I call back anyway or just wait any advise is appreciated thank you.....    — marie M. I would wait the full 10 days this way you know for a fact that they have had time to review it. I know the feeling to I am waiting to be approved for the second time because I had to switch doctors because my previous doctor was out of network. Be patient and everything will go well.

In insurance company terminology,10 days = 10 business days. I work with insurance companies all day and have worked for a couple also. At my job we call every 3 days to check on authorizations. I personally won't wait when my approval is up for authorization. Go ahead and call. What can they say, but no, we haven't reviewed it yet? GO FOR IT!! **Robin**
