Question:
********** HELP to find Dr. Iradj Salahi (NJ) *********
PAGING ALL Dr. Salahi's patients!!!!!! Had my original open RNY on 3/16/00. Almost 3 yrs post op and need possible revision due to partial staple line disruption (along with GB removal). Problem is that I believe my original surgeon retired and now I can't find anyone to do revision because no one wants to revise something that another doctor has done. HELP!!! I'm not even totally sure the surgeon retired. His office phone just says it's been disconnected, no forwarding #. Can't find him at 411 or in phone book. I called the hospital where I had my surgery and they told me the computer says he resigned last year. I searched his section on this website and the last entry by a patient is 11/2002. I called Trenton, NJ at the board of certifications and they tell me his license hasn't been renewed yet and it expires sometime in the next few months. The only assumption I have is that he retired. I know he was well into his 60's. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts please please let me know. OR at least any of his recent patients know for sure if this is what happened. Also, more importantly, any NJ patients planning revisions know of a surgeon that would do it (not having done the original). How did your insurance handle revisions? I have Healthnet (previously PHS Healthcare). Thanks!!! — Michelle F. (posted on March 8, 2003)

Appears he's still alive and well...and still cutting.

Michelle, if you'll go into the City, the whole group at Mt Sinai is
fantastic. Dr. Gagner did my stomach transection after a SLD (he was not
my original surgeon) and even was able to do it lap, and my original RNY
was open. It will help if you can get your Surgical Report from the
Records Dept. of the hopsital. This will tell the new surgeon exactly what
your old surgeon did.
Good luck, hon, and just an FYI...the transection was so much easier than
the original surgery, not just because it was lap, but because I already
knew that there's life after WLS, you know, what to expect, what I can eat,
etc. 3 1/2 years later & all is well.
