Question:
How much out of pocket?
I have EPO BCBS of MN. They say the DR. and Hospital are 100% covered of their alloted amount. Does anyone have a guess has to how much $$$$ this means comes out of my pocket? — Jane T. (posted on January 26, 2003)

Hi. If I am understanding correctly... alloted amount is the amount they
agreed on? If they are paying 100% of this amount you should not owe
anything out of pocket. Do you have a deductible? Most plans have a
coinsurance limit, which is the maximum out of pocket you would pay, minus
deductibles (in most cases, sometimes it includes deductible). An 80%-20%
plan, the 20% you would owe is your coinsurance amount. But if you say
they are covering it at 100%, sounds like its paid at 100%. If the doctor
is out of the insurance network, then you could be responsible for the
amount over the alloted fee. I hope that makes sense!
