Question:
What are somemore good choices for SUGAR FREE DRINKS.
Hi, during tha day I drink crystal light, sugar free kool-aid, and sometimes sugar free hot chocolate...but I'm getting really bored. What are some other good, low calorie, sugar free drinks that might give me a change.....I am looking for something that is mainly water....like how you make crystal light. This would be really helpful for me....thanks a bunch. — Jennifer M. (posted on January 23, 2003)

Jennifer, I agree, i got sick of that stuff to...I bought a Mr Coffee Ice
Tea pot and a bunch of different flavored teas (mint, rasperry, citrus,
peach, etc)...They are all caffeine free and with a little lemon and Sweet
& Low, quite tasty! Good Luck! Heather (Open RNY 8-15 305/218/150)

I liked mixing 3/4 Crystal Light lemonade and 1/4 Raspberry Ice for a
change. I take the powdered mix with me wherever I go in a plastic salt
shaker and add it to my water. For other sugar-free recipes, check out my
profile page or go to: www.freewebs.com/recipes-after-rny

Personally, the only sugar free drink I like is sugar free TANG. I get it
at super walmart and it tastes the same as regular to me. This is from
someone who barely can stand anything sugar free pre and post op!

I think the best sugar free drink is Crystal light lemonade (yellow). It
is excellent!

Hey there...Hi there....Ho there....lol...have you ever tried Lipton Peach
Tea??? OMG, it is to die for...Ok, if you like it that is...it's sugar free
but does have caffiene in it..but I drink tons of it and am still losing
and doing super...also, Lipton has a diet Lemon tea that does
"not" have the caffiene if you wish to go that route... just try
a little at a time..they have quite a flavorful punch!! Love and light,

Hi there, Jennifer! Have you tried "Propel"? Gatorade makes it
and it is VERY good, esp. the berry and lemon flavor. And you can re-use
the bottle. It has only 2g of sugar for 23 oz ( which is almost 3 cups).
It also has some vitamins in it, maybe that would be worth something for
you to try. Vi open RNY 9/23/02 down 93 lbs

Homemade "Snapple" Ice Tea + Kool-Aid package + Sweet n' Low.
There are "alot" of kool-aid flavors and enough for you to switch
up if you get tired. Also this is much cheaper to make than Crystal Light.
Back when I was a struggling student I would consume this all the time
because it is cheap and I can make it in quantities.

This is for the last poster. I agree water IS the best thing to drink.
However while in the emergency room having potassium given by IV a doctor
asked what I drink. I said only water. "YOU CAN'T LIVE ON THAT"!
@$%&%*. That did it for me. Damned if you do or damned if you don't. I
only drank pop all my life. I finally came clean after WLS and drank ONLY
water and I'm still wrong. So pi## on it. Now I've gone back to only pop
(although diet). If I'm always going to be wrong (no matter what I drink) I
may as well drink what I like. So now I've lost my taste for water anyway.
It will probally be another 45 years or so before I get it back again. ;)

A friend just told me about Zero Carb Isopure - it comes in 20 oz. bottles,
7 flavors (gatorade type) AND has 40g of protein! I haven't tried it yet,
but already ordered some!

I found a recipe on-line or Sugar free friendship tea (dont have it with me
today), but I keep a jar of that in my desk and it's a nice change. Just
heat up some water in the micro and stir in a tsp. or so to taste. I also
drink one bottle of propel a day and do the rest in just plain water. I
have also added a diet 7-up a few times a week, just add ice and stir
really well to lose most of the fizz.

I am a huge fan of Sugar Free Tang, I had to order it directly from kraft.
I also drink lots of coffee and tea. I drink diet soda, and the occasional
water. There actually isn't much I won't drink, except for sugared soda and
strong mixed drinks.

I also drink Diet Botanicals. I have found them at Sam's Club and I love
Snapple.
Good luck in whatever you choose.

I have been using the Lusianne Tea Flavorings mixed with water and Splenda.
Comes in Raspberry, Strawberry-Kiwi, and Mango-Peach. No calories,
nothing. I use 1 -2 Tsp. of flavor, 2 -3 packets of Splenda and my bottle
holds about 3 C. of water. This has really helped as I weaned myself off
of Diet Coke.

Just a tip, whenever I am at a place with a soda fountain- I notice they
usually have lemons or limes, free water and equal. I usually whip myself
up a little concoction!

You might try diet V-8 Splash. It does have some calories - 10 per serving
but I find it's good mixed half and half with water and so you get your
water and some vitamins too!

I drink the Lipton Diet Decaf Iced Tea with Lemon for the most part.
Occasionally, I will have a Snapple Lemon Iced Tea (but this has caffeine)
or Crystal Light Pink or Regular Lemonade. Rarely (maybe one a week tops)
a diet soda if nothing else is available...JR

HI I also had a hard time with finding things I could drink. I just
discovered Diet Snapple cran-raspberry, not something I would have chosen
before the surgery but it only has 2gm of carbs and 2 grams of sugar and it
taste good too! Also Diet lemon Nestea ice tea has even less carbs and
sugar and is also good. THe snapple web site says a new diet apple drink
is now available but I haven't seen it yet. Good luck

Fruit-2O... (think H2O) its flavored water sweetned with Splenda. I really
missed my ruby red grapefruit juice and Fruit-2O has a citrus flavor thats
just awesome.
