I still take 2 Flintstones, 5 months out. My surgeon says it is fine.

My surgeon (and they are all different) says if we take Flintstones, we
need to take TWO in the mornig and TWO in the evening because after all one
is a childs dose. My question is why have you waited so long to start
vitamins? Most docs have you start pre-op, But you have done GREAT!!!!
Keep up the good work. ((((((((HUGS)))))

I have taken vitamins from day one, my question is, is there a better one
we can take other than chewables

Two and a half months post op here (open RNY)down 70 lbs. I am still
taking TWO flintstones chewables a day. I take a tiny little iron pill and
a B-12 dot and TWO Tums EX (calcium)a day. My surgeon did tell me I could
go back to my Centrum after I hit general diet. (Have you seen the size of
those Centrums?) I started out on the clear liquids, then on to full
liquids, then pureed, then soft and I am now on a general diet. I am
slowly trying new things every day. Protein first, eat slowly and chew to
pureed consistency. I have never been sick from anything I ate, but there
are lots of things I eat now that just don't taste good. Good luck.

I am six months out and I take "One A Day" women's vitamin, and
with each meal Nature's Way B-Complex nad Citrical calcium. Important to
remember to take calcium citrate versus calcium carbonate. After being past
the phase when you need the chewables start the citrates. Ask Michelle
Curran at Vitalady.com.
