Question:
I had a nuclear stress test last week in preparation for WLS on 4/14/03. They found
a possible blockage and want to do a cardiac catherization. Is this going to prevent me from having WLS? Has anyone had the same situation? What happened? HELP, I'm really stressing here!!! — suzcar51 (posted on December 31, 2002)

I had the same test. Scared my so bad. It did cause my frist wls date to be
cancel because it was so close. But when I talked to the heart Dr. she
didn't think it wasn't enough to put off wls. reason why. my other test was
ok. She felt this test showed something because of my weight. other words
my weight vs the machine. She said That she didn't see how the machine
could tell anything because of my weight. and the cath down my leg was out.
anyhow she give me a ok for the surgery. And plus my understand was if
something was wrong take care of it frist then continue to the wls. God
Bless and hang in there.

Hi! I had the same test and they told me the same thing...I to was scared
to death. They did the cardiac cath on me and didn't see a blockage on that
they said all i had was left ventricular diastolic dysfunction and would be
helped or possibly cured if i lost weight. My cardiologist said that when
you have fairly large breasts that it can cause them to see something but
it's almost always nothing. So that's probably all it is don't worry...hope
this helps and good luck to you :)

Same thing happened to my husband, the cath showed everything normal. If
they do find something, consider this lucky in that blockages can be
treated today. Even if you have to postpone for a while, it will happen
for you.
