Question:
Is tachacardia considered a co-morbid condition?
I went to my pcp's office today and he agreed to start the pre-op proceedures and testing. They ran an ekg and said that I had tachacardia. Is this considered a comorbid condition?? — Nickie C. (posted on December 31, 2002)

tachacardia is probably a symptom of another issue. It depends on what that
other issue may be. Tachacardia in it's self is most likely NOT a
comorbidity, but it would definatly be worth looking into and mentioning on
the letter of medical necessity (lomn)

I have Ventricular Tachycardia, which can be life threatening. My surgeon
said loosing weight will of course put less strain on my heart. Theres
various types of Tachycardia. Some which are life threatening and some
that are not. No matter what, loosing weight will take off some of the
strain of your heart pumping because there is less of us, being obese puts
a strain on our hearts. But like myself loosing weight will not take away
my heart problems.
