Question:
I believe I have a UTI and since it's Saturday, I can't go to the doctor ...
Is there anything OTC that I can get that will help at all until Monday or should I just go to a walk in clinic and do a urine test? There's just a minimal amound of a burning sensation so I can live with the annoyance for a couple more days if I have to. — KelBurt (posted on December 21, 2002)

The name of the otc pill is Uristat, and yes, it will make your urine a
red/orange color. It "numbs" your bladder to the pain. Usually
can be found on the shelves with the all the feminine hygiene stuff. Hope
you feel better soon.

I know Saturday has come and gone, however, for future reference, there is
an OTC pill called AZO STANDARD. This pill only helps reduce the pain, it
does not make the infection go away. If the pain goes away and you forget
about it, the infection can become even worse and hurt thru your kidneys
causing severe lower back pain. However, the azo standard is great when
there's no doc available!
