OVER EATING AND MAYBE STRETCHING YOUR POUCH? HOW DO THESE THINGS OCCUR. I WAS NOT TRANSECTED, AND HAD A OPEN RNY. DOCTOR IS ORDERING A UPPER GI TO CHECK. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO THEM? — Gale G. (posted on December 19, 2002)

It would be very hard to cause a disruption by overeating, no matter what
some doctors say. Most of the time, they're caused by the stomach tissue
just doing what its supposed to, rejecting foreign objects (the staples).
I hope you don't have one, it's a pain in the butt...been there, done that.

You can also have a gastroenterologist poke a hole in the staple line
during an endoscopy, just because he wanted to see the other side. :/ That
kinda sucks.

SLD is not a "fault" issue. You can save yourself a trip down
that road. As Leslie said, it's the body trying to normalize itself. Mine
was at 5 yrs. My freind was on her 7th anniversary. I knew one at 2
weeks. So, there ya go, There is no blame or fault to be attached, and
certainly not to YOU. Deep breath.
