Question:
Does anyone have any suggestions...........
on some good pureed meals? I am almost 2 weeks post-op and getting really tired of the same things. THANKS! — chatterbox213704 (posted on December 14, 2002)

Kimberly, why can you not just puree anything you would eat if you were not
on pureed? That is what I intend to do. I am a nurse and have worked with
geriatrics for the past 12 years have always served the people with pureed
diets the same thing as the regulars. As bad at it sounds, one of the
favorites at the last place I was is bologna and cheese with a touch of
mustard prueed, I have tasted this and it is not bad!!! I will just
experiment! Have fun and be creative! God Bless!

Kim~I am almost 5 weeks post op. I too got sooo sick of the same foods on
puree (im now on solids). My favorite things to eat were meatloaf with
mashed potatoes. Campbells Soup in Hand (chicken). Peanut Butter, Angel
Hair pasta with alfredo sauce. Be creative!!! Anything you would normally
eat (other than steak!) just throw in the blender with either water, milk,
or mashed potatoes and it tasts yummy! Best of luck to you! I know you
will do great!

You can puree anything 2 different ways. In a blender or cut into pencil
eraser sized bits and chew to death. Thats what I did. One foods at a time
in very small quanties. Now rememnber PENCIL ERASER SIZED BITS!

Seafood! Crab legs, scallops and fish are very very soft and easy to eat.

Italian Beef was a favorite pureed item of mine and is still a favorite
meat. Cook it all day long in the crock pot, toss some of the meat and
broth in a blender and yum! Here's my "easy" recipe: 3-4 lb. rump
roast, 2 cups beef broth or bouillon, 1 envelope Good Seasonings Italian
Dressing mix, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning. If you like it spicy or once
you can tolerate spicy, add a few Jalapeno peppers for extra flavor. You
can also add fresh garlic if you wish :) Enjoy! - Anna LAP RNY 7/3/02
