I KNOW EXCEDRIN PM DOESNT HAVE ASPRIN IN IT. IF I CRUSHED IT WOULD IT BE OKAY FOR ME TO TAKE TO HELP ME SLEEP. I WAS AN ADVID EXCEDRIN USER PRIOR TO SURGERY AND NOW IM CLUELESS ON WHAT I CAN TAKE. THANKS IN ADVANCE! — sandrac131 (posted on December 9, 2002)

Antihistamines make me drowsy. Mucus can collect in your pouch and make you
nauseous. I take antihistamines every night to help with this and they help
me sleep too.

Hi,
My surgeon said to take tylenol pm to help sleep. I don't know if you can
swallow a capsule yet or not but if you can it worked great for me...Good
Luck.....

Excedrin PM has ibuprofen in it, doesn't it? I was told that ibuprofen can
cause bleeding in our pouch and needs to be avoided, especially for the
first 6 months after surgery. My doc gave us a list of meds that we can't
take anymore and excedrin was on that list. Tylenol PM is a good choice,
though.

My surgeon suggested benadryl (sp?) for sleeping, worked like a charm...

Excedrin PM has ibuprofen in it and we can't take that after surgery.
Double check with your own personal surgeon though, he's the one to listen
to.
