Question:
I need advice, recommendations ...
for breaking a plateau AND the head hunger that has just returned. I'm 7 months post-op, down 95lbs and 20 - 25 from goal weight. This is only my 2nd. plateau. I finally dropped below 150lbs. a week and 1/2 ago, and the scale hasn't moved since then. I'm also currently doing battle with head hunger, and it's winning at the moment. It's driving me nuts. I have NO physical hunger. I'm never hungry, thank you God, but this head hunger has come back in the last week & 1/2 and I can't stand it. I know it's being made worse by the plateau... that's depressing me. I'm grateful for what I've lost so far. I'm thankful I haven't been a slow loser, but still. I need suggestions for getting off the plateau and for combating this miserable S.O.B, head hunger. It is evil. Any advice? Should I give protein shakes only for a couple days a shot? I already exercise 6 - 7 days a week. I know I've been consuming more calories than normal (probably 1000-1200) per day. Is that a good thing or a bad thing. Help, please! — KelBurt (posted on December 3, 2002)

Hi
this is only a suggestion im not a medical dr or anything......However i
think if you went to eating 100 grams of protien daily and the ONLY carbs
you eat would be in form of 2 cups raw salad a day and all the water you
can possibly get in you would not only boost the protien cutting the head
hunger a bit but put your body back into ketosis or otherwords the
loosing mode 1000 calories a day is fine IF your carb total is under 30
grams for whole day so if head hunger is winning just make SURE its pure
protien your eating hard boiled eggs cheeses deli meats or other meats
fish ect...I hope this helps

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm going to to try upping my protein. I
brought extra protein powder and my shake cup to work with me today, so I
can have a couple here, to see if that helps my 'head' issues. Anyone else
with words of wisdom?
