Question:
Anyone start out at 5'2 & 235lbs. How fast and how much did you lose?
I know being considered a lightweight I was curious to know how fast the weight came off. Did anyone need a tummy tuck? How long did it take you to get to your goal weight? Thanks!! — blank first name B. (posted on November 23, 2002)

hiya. my stats aren't quite the same...i'm 5'1/4" and was 268lbs pre
op but i was considered a lightweight too. my goal weight of 135lbs was
reached 13mos post op and now i'm sitting at 126lbs. i had probably 3-4
plateaus, the first at 6mos and it lasted 6 weeks.
you can check my website for pics. http://www.geocities.com/katebme2002

I am 5'1" and started at 210 to 220 depending on who's scale you use.
I have lost 92 pounds in 10 months. I have lost weight every week so far. I
want to lose 8 more poundsto get to 110 on my scale (which was the same as
my surgeons'.) I do need a tummy tuck but not as bad as I need a thigh
lift. I carried my weight in my hips and thighs. Hope this helps. Randy RNY

I started out exactly the same as you. I've lost 51 lbs since my surgery on
Aug.2nd. I had a 1 month plateau in Sept. but have been losing since.

I am 5'1". My hightest weight before surgery was 232. I lost 12
pounds in the three weeks before surgery on 9/5 and have lost 40 more
since. Total loss so far 52 pounds. It is slow, but consistant.

I was considered a lightweight also. I am 5'2" and started @
255 pounds. I'm 8 months post op and have lost 100 pounds -- down to 155. I
have a chart on my website (that needs updating) but it has how many pounds
I lost after X number of weeks or
months

http://www.geocities.com/koolkitten_23/

As for the tummy tuck -- I need one badly. My skin has
been stretched out for over 13 years and it doesn't show signs of shrinking
back. I've tried to go to the PS but I keep cancelling the appointment
becasue of fear and annoyance that I will have to fight with my health
insurance carrier. Doctor put my goal weight @ 145 and then he says I'll
lose another 8-11 by having all the skin on my tummy removed & a breat
reduction

Hope this helps

I started at 5'2 - 248 pounds. At 9 months, I was down to 140 pounds when
I went in for my tummy tuck. By mid October, I had lost another 15 pounds
to get me to my goal weight of 125. So it took about 11 months total.
Hope this helps.

I started at 5'2" 230 pounds and am 33 years old. It took me 7 months
to reach my top goal (27 % body fat or about 145 pounds--the high end of
"normal") and 10 1/2 months to reach my current weight (130
pounds or 24% body fat--mid-normal range). I had one plateau from weeks 3-6
and the slow loss period in months 7-10 (my own fault--I went carb crazy!)
I don't NEED a tummy tuck, but I'd like to have one if I could get the
insurance to pay for it or if I win the lottery. LOL Everything came back
together pretty well except the parts that were stretched during pregnancy
(tummy and breasts). But still, you can't tell with clothes on and there's
an EXTREMELY short list of folks that will see me without! ;)
