Question:
Eating Thai food tomorrow for my birthday. Nine months out. What do you suggest?
Have reservations at a Thai restaurant tomorrow night - it's my birthday. I cannot eat noodles so Pad Thai is out of the question. Curries are good, can eat rice. What other suggestions do you have? thanks. — Linda V. (posted on November 23, 2002)

Hello! I had to answer this one because I LOVE Thai food and it agrees with
my belly, so thats even better! I am not much of a experimenter, so I get
the same thing whenever I go-Thai Dumplings-which are like
mushroom/bamboo/shrimp things that are steamed (not fried) and so Yummy! I
also have gotten Thai Spring Rolls, which are rice paper filled with
lettuce, chicken, basil and some other cold veggies...for an entree I usually
get the Sweet and Sour Chicken-this is not like you would get at a Chinese
restaurant sweet and sour though-its more sour and not a lot of sugar at
all-because I dump easy and this works great for me. I just order it with
the sauce on the side and use what I want-and I get it with white rice.
Thai food in general seems fairly healthy, at least in my opinion. I
haven't seen anything fried in Thai cuisine yet, but I am sure they have
some-although, they do have fried Ice Cream but I try to stay away from
that!! And I probably eat Thai every other week-I am down 170lbs in 13
months and almost at goal so I dont think it has hurt me! Good luck, and
happy birthday!!!

Thai food is great and I had found most thai resturants will have chicken
satay or pork satay as an appetizer its great tasting and the right size
for us other than that sample from others, I had also eaten larb gai with
no problems other than the fact it can be a little on too hot/spicy side
for my taste. Enjoy your birthday

I just adore chicken satay with peanut sauce. Mostly I order the Thai
Barbecue Chicken with salad. Yum!
