Question:
I'm 5'7 and 255 would like to hear from others pre and post-op around same size - how
they did post-op, weight loss, etc. and also from any pre-ops getting ready for surgery. What kind of exercise did you do, how much, when did you start, etc. I'm scheduled for an Open RNY 12-6-02. Look forward to hearing from you. — Debra L. H. (posted on November 13, 2002)

I am 5'7 and weighed 264 when I had surgery 9-30-02. I am now 6 1/2 weeks
out and down 40 pounds. I am ashamed to say that I have not started
exercising yet.

I am 5'7" and started at 230 pounds. I had surgery on Oct 16, 2001 so
I am just over a year post op. I have lost 103 pounds. YIPEE!!! My goal
was to get down to 135...I am now down to 127. Yes, I said 127. :) I
pretty much eat what I want when I want. I do not excercise. I plan
to....but you know how it goes. No problem with saggy skin. I want a
tummy tuck, but I have had 4 kids, I needed a tummy tuck before I lost
weight. I couldnt be happier with my loss. I am now in a comfy size 8. I
can even fit into some 6's and 4's believe it or not. YIPEE!!!!!!!!

I am 5' 7" and had a start weight of 265 in a 24. I had surgery on
10-3-01 and am now at 145 and in a size 8. I had my share of
complications, but am very happy with my decision to have surgery.

I am so glad you ask this question. I am 5' 6' and 255. I just had
surgery 1 week ago. I was excercising at least 3x a week at the gym
previously (treadmill or exercise bike and weight machines.) I have
started walking down the street and back a couple of days ago. I plan on
returning to the gym in a couple of weeks!. I love to see how others our
size have worked their program.

Hello there. I'm 29 yrs. old and had LAP Wls done 07/31/02. I was
282.50lbs when I checked in to the hospital. I'm about 5'9 and currently 3
1/2 months post op. I currently weigh 215lbs. Clothing wise I was wearing
size 22/24 and I'm fitting into loose size 16's today. I have a 10 month
old baby, and work full time, so I'm getting my excersize the
"natural" way. Good Luck.

Hello, I'm 5' 7.5" tall and I started on 6/11/02 at 252.5 pounds. I
am now a little over 5 months out and down 83 lbs. I have only 2.5 lbs
until my bmi is "normal" and I would like to lose a total of 15
pounds after that. I don't do any cardio excersize, only some physical
therapy excersizes for my back. I eat every kind of food but I focus
mainly on protein. I don't deprive myself of carbs, but I don't tolerate
rice or bread, so that helps a lot. I need to buy a whole new wardrobe
though since the only things I own that fit me now are from high school!
