Question:
Does anyone in Massachsetts known which surgeons are accepting Masshealth
Neighborhood Health Care Plan receiptents? The surgial group who work out of Newton-Wellesley Hospital are no longer taking MassHealth. — Aynikaye (posted on November 3, 2002)

Hi Anne, I live in Massachusetts also and have Neighborhood health. I had
my surgery on Oct. 2, 2002 by Dr. Sheldon Randall, M.D. His Telephone # is
617-421-8749 133 Brookline Ave. Boston, MA 02215 Harvard Vanquard Medical
Associates. He is a wonder Doctor and realy care for his Obese paitents.
It takes a while (3 months) for me to get an appointment with him, but it
is well worth it. He has been doing this surgery for 18 years and has
trained 10 of the Doctors in the Boston area. As far a surgery dates he
see 15 new paitents each week and performs 8 surgerys each week. He is
booking a year ahead, the last I heard. He also does tummy tucks ect. He
has an office at the Lawrence Memorial hospital in Medford also, but I saw
him in Boston. I hope this helps you and if you would like to talk e-mail
me. Good luck with your insurance, (I had no problems with them). Debbie

Hi. Dr. R. Armour Forse at Boston Medical Center accepts MassHealth and
NHP. His office number is 617-414-8052. I am sooo glad I chose him for my
surgeon. Read my profile for more information. I don't know how long the
wait list is now because I had my surgery 2 years ago, but he has been
doing this surgery for 18 years now and has also trained many of the
surgeons in the Boston area. He is a pioneer in this field. Good luck,
and if you need to chat, feel free to email me.

Hi Anne, I have researched many of the surgeons in MA. I also have
Mass.Health and know a few who accept it, although I do not know about the
Neighborhood network part of it. All the programs/surgeons that I spoke
with do take Mass.Health. I have all their phone #'s if you would like
them, and I can give you the "low down" on their waiting list. I
live pretty close to you and can tell you that Dr.Ameri in Stoneham is
wonderful( he is my surgeon~stil pre-op),his wait for consult is about 4-5
months now and surgery 3-4 months later...(he is LAP only) another is Dr.
Griffey at U-Mass Worcester (only OPEN RNY) his wait was only 1-2 months
for consult then surgery about 3-4 months later. This is getting too long so
just e-mail me and I will try and help ya!!!!
