Question:
THOSE OF YOU WHO HAD LUNG PROBLEMS BEFORE SURGERY...
WHEN DID YOUR BREATHING GET BETTER. I AM BORDERLINE ASHMA AND COPD. I HAVE LOST 47 POUNDS, BUT FIND THAT I CAN'T WALK VERY FAR WITHOUT GETTING OUT OF BREATH. HOW MUCH DID YOU HAVE TO LOSE BEFORE YOU DIDN'T HAVE THAT PROBLEM ANYMORE? — Gale G. (posted on October 30, 2002)

I think it depends a lot on how bad your asthma and COPD are. Are you on
medication or c-pap etc. I am. I had lap rny 10 months ago - down 105
pounds. Exercise seems to be the key-plus the weight loss of course.I do
dumb bells and machines and the ball and then SWIM laps in the pool WITH a
snorkel. My shortness of breath has greatly improved - but I still use a
little medication and te c-pap (I am a shallow breather when sleeping).
But I have a new life. Please exercise - not strenous at first -
