Question:
Has anyone used Dr. Henry Laws in Birmingham, Alabama?

I am a bit worried cause I found out today that Dr. Laws is retiring.He is no longer seeing patients. The other doctors in his group with him have left and started their own work somewhere else. What are we supposed to do now? JAMIE CORN    — jamie C. (posted on October 28, 2002)

Dr. Clements at UAB, Birmingham. He trained with Dr. Laws at Caraway Meth.also, Dr. Dewitt is at Carraway, he's also very good. Dr. Clements is my surgeon, My RNY is Jan.2003. Hope this helps.

You probably don't need that much in the way of aftercare at this point besides having your bloodwork checked periodically, which your PCP could do. But I would double check with your insurance, because I have heard of people who move or for some reason can't go back to their original surgeon and the insurance refuses to pay for follow up with any other surgeon. Dr. Laws did my surgery in May but he was training a local doctor, and that doctor does my follow up care. They told me Dr. Laws was retiring. Good luck to you, sounds like you are doing great.
