Question:
My Insurance company has a written exclusion in its policy for WLS.
It is for obesity as well as for morbid. (They found their own loop hole I'm afraid.) However, I am always one who has believed that "rules" are made to be broken!! Has anyone ever beaten a written exclusion?? If so, I would love to hear from you. Thanks so much!! — Courtney Durham (posted on October 26, 2002)

Please see my bio. I beat a written exclusion. It is not legal to exclude
a needed surgery - this is discrimination. Fight it and they should back
down. If you have any questions, Please let me know.

Can I get the information from the profile mentioned? My insurance covers
abortion, fertility issues and even workout equipment but there is an
exclusion for weight loss surgery. I am morbidly obese and medically need
this surgery as I am also insulin resistant and have physical issues that
limit my ability to work out. Any advice you can give me would be SO
appreciated!! :)
