Question:
Do I have a hernia?
For the last week now I've had a burning feeling to the left of my belly button, only when I'm standing though. And I don't feel a bulge at all. I've made an appointment with my surgeon but was wondering If anyone else had the same feeling, and what it was? I don't see my surgeon for another three days. Thanks. — Jennifer M. Jennifer, I have a burning pain also that usually occurs when I am sitting
slumped over or sometimes standing. When I first told my WL surgeon about
the burning he thought it was an ulcer and I have been on carafate for two
months. It doesn't really help and even antacids don't touch the pain. I
was diagnosed with a hernia at the same time and I believe it is that that
is causing the burning pain. I discussed it with my PCP and she seemed to
agree, thought maybe when I am sitting in a certain position something is
getting pinched. I'm going to talk to my surgeon on Thursday. I don't
fell a bulge either until I lay down and do a sit up, then it pops up.
