Question:
Has anyone gotten pregnant 6 to 7 months after wls?
I have a friend of mine that had the surgery a couple of days before mine and she is on 7 months post-op and she's pregnant. Has anyone has a successful pregnancy after 7 months from sugery? — dainty (posted on October 14, 2002)

It's usually recommended that you wait 2 years after surgery, but I know a
couple of women who got pregnant 4 and 8 months post-op and they both had
healthy babies. Your friend should definitely let the surgeon/dietician
know so they can alter her eating plan. She'll have to increase her fat
intake the first 3 months of pregnancy to ensure the babies neurological
development. (that's what a BTC dietician told me).

I did become pregnant 6 months after surgery. Unfortunately, I had a
miscarriage right away. The embryo was under developed. I wish you the best
of luck sincerely. Eat healty & take your vitamins. Good luck.
