Question:
HOW DO I GET A SMALL PIECE OF CHICKEN....
UNSTUCK. I AM 5 WEEKS OUT AND ATE A FEW SMALL PIECES OF CHICKEN, AND I THREW IT UP BUT THERES A PIECE STILL STUCK BECAUSE EVERYTHING I DRINK I THROW BACK UP, HELP HOW CAN I GET IT TO GO DOWN. — Gale G. (posted on October 13, 2002)

Take a big pinch of Adolph's Meat Tenderizer. Put it on your tongue. Take
a sip of warm water and swallow.
The chicken should either dissolve and go down, or will come up almost
immediately. Repeat if necessary.
This works quite well for me every time. Others take papaya tablets from
the health food store with the same result. I use the meat tenderizer
method.
Good luck to you.

Go to your local GNC and buy papaya enzyme. Chew up three of them and
drink some hot tea. It helps to digest. If that fails, and you are still
throwing everything up, call your surgeon.

If it doesn't get *un-stuck* right away, you should call your
surgeon...depending on the size and how long it's been there, they may need
to go down your throat with a scope and fish it out. I've never had this
problem, but it was one of the things I took notes on before surgery. Like
some of the other posts here, I've heard that the Adolf's Meat Tenderizer
works wonders.

I'll probably catch heck for this suggestion, but a friend of mine was
desperate to avoid getting scoped over stuck beef. She tried drinking a
diet Coke and the foaming caused her to bring the stuck piece up. Just a
thought, but still I'd call my surgeon.

My surgeon recommended the Adolph's Meat Tenderizer...about 1/2 teaspoon in
a couple ounces of water. Tastes like sea water - but it will dissolve
just about anything digestable.
