Question:
I am going Deep Sea Fishing on Friday and was wondering if anyone knew if there was
anything they knew about Dramamine or other seasickness medication that we can or can't have post-op. I don't normally get seasick, but I've always heard anybody can on any given day. Thought I would take a dramamine as a precaution. Thanks for any replies. — Tparker (posted on October 5, 2002)

Before taking any medication, call your doctor's office and ask. I do know
there are some patches for seasickness that you put behind the ear - they
wouldn't affect the tummy.

Hi! I went DeepSea Fishing at 4 months Post op, and my surgeon told me it
was OK to take either Dramamine or Bodine, both were fine. I took a
Dramamine and did great. Like you, I normally don't get seasick, but it
was really rough the day we went out...Have a good time - wish I was going!

I see everyone already mentioned the patches, so I'm just want to say Good
Luck! I went deep sea fishing once and loved it! I hope you catch a lot
of fish!
