Cherice, you are a 'lighteight' like me. You are doing fine. I am only donw
33 pounds in 8 weeks. I just figure that I will have less hanging skin!

I am 12 weeks post op and am down 57#. If there is anything I have learned
from this whole experience, it's that everyone loses at their own rate! I
started at 250 day of surgery, and was considered a
"lightweight"...(hah! not to me!) I have constantly compared
myself to the people I met in the hospital, people in my support
group...etc...but the bottom line is you are down 32# FOREVER! It will
continue to accululate and you will feel better and better with each pound,
just like me! Good luck to you!

Mee Too! I'm 33 pounds at 8 weeks.
I was getting a little discouraged, too. It is nice to know there are
others out there. I can tell that I'm getting smaller even though I
haven't lost much weight lately.

Like the previous posters, I too am a light-weight! I started off at 264,
by 10 weeks I was down 40lbs. Now, I'm 7 months out and down 80 lbs. I'm
not disappointed AT ALL! It's 80 lbs that I wouldn't have lost AND, I'm
working out so I'm gaining muscle weight. I don't always focus on the
weight, I look at the total inches lost..of which there are MANY. Offhand,
I can say that I've lost 10 inches in my waist alone, 12 total in the hips
and so on, and so on! Seriously, Don't focus solely on the weight, trust
me! Again, if you're working out and building muscle, there may be times
when you don't see any loss. Instead, measure your bust, waist, abdomen,
hips, thighs, calves, neck and arms - take the measurments every
month...just watch, the inches will go. I remember I had 6 weeks where I
didn't lose a thing, nice little plateau, BUT, the inches came off! After
about 6 months, the loss slows down for some of us...but the weight will
still come off - just a little more slowly. I'm content with that, like my
co-worker says "slow and steady wins the race".....plus, more of
a chance for my skin to bounce back. It will all happen, don't worry!

When was the last time you lost an average of over *5* pounds a week
(almost 1 pound a day) for any length of time AND KEPT IT OFF??? You;re
doing fine! Just feel good, do what you need to do regarding supplements
and try not to compare yourself to some idea of perfection. (Didn't we do
enough of that as preops?) I'm also a slower loser -- 50# in 3 1/2 months.
So WHAT? Hope this helps.

Cherice, first CONGRATS! Secondly, my dtr says the most SIGNIFICANT weight
loss is months 3-8, so, don't fret, you'll get there. Good Luck (Open RNY
8/15, down 35lbs)

I think that being a slow looser has a benefit that fast loosers don't.
Your skin has time to bounce back where mine is going to hang. I am
considered a lightweight, and I have lost 75# in 8 weeks today. I am
extremely excited for the weight loss, but at the same time with only 50
more to go for my goal weight, I have an apron starting to form. Good luck
in your success and be happy with the weight that you have lost I think it
is awesome! Have a blessed day! ~Ang~

Yup, your normal and right on schedule. The others are right-we
lightweights lose slower than those with more to lose. By 8 weeks, I think
I had lost round 40. I'm a week shy of 8 months and just hit 80 pounds
gone forever! I'm 72% of the way to goal.
