Question:
Ever since surgery I have.....

had night sweats every single night. I take a patch for hormones. Does anyone know what a gastric patient can safetly take for night sweats, I need to sleep.    — Gale G. (posted on September 17, 2002)

I am so glad that you are on the other side. I also shared your problem of night sweats for about two weeks postop. When I asked my doc what was causing this, he told me it was hormonal. I am now 3 1/2 weeks post op and they are finally gone. Hope you have a fast as a recovery as me and I hope that you fell better soon.

Perhaps your OB/GYN can increase the patch dosage for a while? Ask...

Gale, I was told that the sweats were partly due to having to be off my HRT awhile Pre-Op and the anesthesia's after effects. Mine started immediately after Post-Op and continued for about 2 weeks. By then I was back on my Premarin but, I really think it was the anesthesia that caused them as they didn't start until AFTER the surgery.
